Commenced on June 20th with a performance at Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, the Italian Luxury House has unveiled the FENDI Renaissance – Anima Mundi global streaming events, which will be presented by renowned music institutions and the Maison de FENDI this year. On July 10th, the collaboration has been brought to The Bund in Shanghai.
The pandemic highlights one’s desire for social interaction and cultural stimulation. While social-distancing regulations prevent us from physically experiencing, creatives come up with digital events and projects to satisfy our lusts.
On June 20th, the day of the Summer Solstice, symbolizing the desire to restart and reunite, the Italian Luxury House Fendi has hosted a two parted streaming event. The first event took place on the steps of Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana – FENDI’s headquarters in Rome – and Square Colosseum in Roma, maintaining social distancing regulations. Antonio Vivaldi’s Estate from The Four Seasons was performed by the orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and violinist Anna Tifu, dressed in Fendi couture. «The performance idea comes from the desire to share a message of rebirth through art, fashion, and music after the pandemic», states the House.
«Anima Mundi represents the principle from which each organism takes shape, articulating and differentiating itself through its specifications to unify under a Universal Soul». The performance is executed following this concept, with the singer, the pianist and the orchestra play separately, «united by Italian classics under the theme of love».
The second streaming performance was brought to the Bund in Shanghai. Through the language of music, the event included the performance of eight music masterpieces by Italian composers and executed by singer and Baritone of Poly Performing Arts – Jia Fan, pianist Shen Zeyu and an orchestra composed by violinist Yang Han. They were accompanied by the skyline alongside the Huangpu River and FENDI’s Couture dresses.
«It is a dialogue between the classical and the modern bound between China and the Maison FENDI». Among the music selections, The Jasmine Flower, like a melody from Chinese folk songs, represents a surprise element in Turandot. «The rhythm and lyrical melody strike a chord in the mind of people. Two sonatas played by Shen Zeyu, the magnetic voice of Jia Fan and the harmony with the orchestra, bring us the calmness from art and music».
The project results from a collaboration between Poly Performing Arts Co., Ltd, and FENDI, two realities bound to the art world and creativity.
