The innovator in weaving and fabrics edition for interior design Metaphores has confirmed its presence at Paris Design week in September. For the occasion, the building’s prestigious furnishings will be refined by Métaphores fabrics, where the Spuma and Cyclades lines – designs inspired by the world of the Olympic games – as well as the Sweet Heart line will be the protagonists. Metaphores is defined by three characteristics and philosophies, giving the French brand – belonging to the Hermès textile division – its signature aesthetic.
The House’s lines are characterized by a selection of natural and noble fibers and emphasized through vibrant colors and refined finishes. The infusion of natural fabrics and traditional techniques, born from the alchemy between matter, spirit and gestures, decorate the volumes and animate the space, rediscovering the living places in depth.
Verel de Belval perpetuates the tradition of Lyon’s silk merging innovation with heritage; Le Crin, recognized since 1787 and awarded the title of Living Heritage Company is one of the last laboratories in the world to possess the know-how of hand-braiding horsehair.
«Métaphores has established itself as the French signature of excellence, weaving bonds with professionals and partners of global renown». For Paris Design week and the Allégories exhibition, Metaphores will be participating with an exhibition, curated by Pierre Gonalons at the Hôtel de Soubise on rue des Francs-Bourgeois 60 in Paris, on invitation from the Musée des Archives Nationales. The House will present its Néolympique collection, made up of eighteen types of fabric, designed by the Director of Creation and Image Emilie Paralitici.
The creations animate the architectural frame of the eighteenth-century palace, which – for the occasion- will be open to public, declining the fusion of two historical universes. The influence of ancient Greece can be sensed in the composition of natural shades and architectural structures, whilst the inspiration from sports can be found in colored graphic lines and dynamism, uniting bright linen and cotton materials with refined textures.
The palette of thirteen shades, incorporated in the Spuma line transform the motif into matter, evoking th foam bubbles dating back to the surface of the sea. The inspiration can be associated with the utilization of cotton weave on a satin background, or linen texture mixed with viscose.
Cyclades refers to the atmospheres of the Greek archipelago which are declined in the mesh of linen bordered by wavy fibers such as the surface of the sea – its flexibility is inspired by the Mediterranean plant and mineral world.
«The desire to marry heritage and avant-garde is the thread Emilie Paralitici, follows in order to bring a breath of fresh air to Métaphores. Creating connections within the Métaphores collections, stimulates eclecticism and singularity, turning Métaphores into the promise of a sensorial experience».
