Hotel de Russie, Rome. Breakfast in the sun, even in November

The ceilings are high, the wooden Dutch ornaments are combined with blue greys, shiny resin floors, beiges, cream, and black finishes

Behind one of the many angels in Piazza del Popolo, Hotel de Russie Rome opens up like a breath of fresh air in this endeavor. Simply furnished, it lets the setting come through – the genius loci of Rome is that of a universal story, and gambling with it has been the poetry of many failures.

Hotel de Russie Rome rests in a hall with large, unusual volumes for the city, white and flowers – there is space to breathe, to smile. The courtyard is set with tables where you can have breakfast in the sun even in November. A few steps take you up to the garden, on the slopes of Pincio. The food is kept simple: mozzarella, tomatoes, focaccia.

Even here some of the rooms are small, thus compromising the level of the entire hotel, but they are few. Most of the bedrooms are the kind you would like to have in your own home. The ceilings are high, the wooden Dutch ornaments are combined with blue-greys, shiny resin floors, beiges, cream, and black finishes. The prices are certainly high – but at least value and professionalism are there.
