While studying biology I realized the field work was only 5% of the job. I needed something more hands on. So I started studying textile and philosophy at the Rietveld Academy combining my taxidermy work. But I got very anxious, it was still too slow. I found out about the fashion department through friends who worked day and night. I was immediately sold to fashion.

Riffing on uniforms and craftsmanship, tailored suit and motor garments will always be our inspiration. The way they are used in the collection changes every collection though. It also enables us to specialize in certain skills. The clothes slowly evolve over time, and maybe in the future we will see them completely differently. We think a slower approach to fashion makes more sense. Ninamounah stands for embracing one’s animalistic instinct to emancipate society.
