A new energy, a pop voice a media connection from the Vatican to Miami Beach
Colour, energy and epic dimensions. The light was that of Rome. On 28 June, at the Stadio dei Marmi, Bulgari presented the new 2018 collection of High Jewellery. Called Wild Pop, it is a tribute to the Eighties of Andy Warhol and to the New York so dear to Nicola Bulgari. It is the memory of times past but never forgotten, of the music of Madonna and David Bowie, of the flamingos and of Miami Vice. Nicola Bulgari, then a young and creative visionary, experienced the buzz of that time first hand, in a New York that was a Big Apple and a melting pot more than ever before. «Bvlgari’s Eighties style – recalls Nicola Bulgari – became very influential. The inner spirit of our family enabled us to decipher and capture that particular time in history. It was none other than Andy Warhol, a great fan of the fashion house, who understood it and stated, in Interview: ‘I believe that your idea of jewellery is the Eighties. Everyone is trying to copy you. Bvlgari jewellery captures the moment perfectly’».
