Eslite Bookstore, Hong Kong: Four Cultural Hubs

In 2015, Eslite Spectrum opened its second store at Tsim Sha Tsui, a vibrant area where history, culture, and tourism meet. The third store followed in 2016 at Cityplaza in Taikoo Shing, featuring a wide range of health and lifestyle products and the city’s largest children’s section. While each branch offers a slightly different experience,Causeway Bay and Olympian City focus on books and stationery, and the ‘Spectrum’ stores explore lifestyle, art, and culture the philosophy remains consistent: a unified path that celebrates reading, creativity, and the diversity of life.

Eslite Bookstore in Taiwan

Founded in 1989, Eslite began as an independent bookstore specialized in arts and humanities. Over time, it expanded into hotels, galleries, food services, events, and lifestyle brands.

Even as reading remained central, Eslite diversified, hosting over 5,000 cultural performances and attracting more than 144 million visitors worldwide. In 1999, it pioneered Taiwan’s first 24-hour bookstore at its Dunhua store and became a leading source of English publications and translations.

Today, Eslite operates fifty stores across Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and Mainland China, all united by a commitment to culture: honoring the past while shaping the future.
