Street lamps in Paris by Romain Laprade
“Even if nobody cares about street lamps, if we isolate them, when we can see that there are real pieces of design. I shoot them with a sky background, I like the repetition of it”
Romain Laprade’s obsession for the street lamps: a photo-reportage from Paris
With my very best friend who is an art director, we had an idea of photographing the different street lighting in Paris, not the classic ones but the ones from the Sixties to Nineties. I’m kind of obsessed with them now and I’m all time looking for some when I’m walking, that’s funny.
I thought about the project mixing your idea of energy (the electricity, the lamps, the sky, the clouds moving) and also the idea of design, because I think Lampoon is also about that. Even if nobody really cares about street lamps, if we isolate them, when we can see that there are real pieces of design. I shoot them with a sky background, I like the repetition of it.
