Bex Day projection

This set of images was inspired by light projections and silhouettes. The idea of using projections was based on the psychological stance of projecting emotions onto someone or something else. Working with stylist Alisa Vornehm, we wanted to create various alternate realities through projections, initially working with nature scenes and panoramas, then moving into a more abstract realm where we used works by artist Monica Rush Solcà in order to allow for ambiguity and for the viewer to take away their own perspective from the series. We included intricate paintings on the model’s face by make-up artist Pep Gay, who alluded to rebirth and growth of the inner child, by painting a Stalk on to her cheek and over her eye.
