Gucci Tennis 1977
Greek and Roman Anthology
In Annie’s practice, photography is just the final part of a larger, interdisciplinary process that begins with creating and setting up the scene to be photographed.
Photography is the part where mystery comes into play and allows her to bottle up some uncertainty. Annie mixes irony and provocation just as she bounces echoes of various historical eras in this shoot that recalls classical art and the 1970s.
Annie’s work is a constant search for surprise, constantly seeking to imprint an indelible mark on the minds of the most distracted observers. Photography that makes fun of objects and elaborates new meanings from them. Because everything in itself has no meaning, but it is all in what we ascribe to it.
The shooting was firstly released in February 2020.
Annie Collinge studied at Central Saint Martins and Brighton University, and has lived between London and New York since graduating. Her work very often focuses on the clash between reality and fiction.
