Michael Brunt and Veronica Blagoeva chronicling their time’s fatigue

Twisting, turning, fidgeting in a tight jacket, limping in a pair of uncomfortable high heels, looking for comfort and finding none – Michael Brunt and Veronica Blagoeva for Lampoon Digital

Seeking comfort and finding none, Michael Brunt and Veronica Blagoeva

Photographer Michael Brunt and stylist Veronica Blagoeva join forces in developing a series of fashion images – recreating and capturing a conflicting feeling each of us is guilty of. Feeling slow, exhausted, lethargic, yet being deprived of choice and forced to perform, appear or be professional, ready to assert oneself in the world.

Twisting, turning, fidgeting in a tight jacket, limping in a pair of uncomfortable high heels, looking for comfort and finding none.

The duo situates its subjects in a London apartment allowing them to surrender to the safety of an aesthetically contrasting domestic environment in the hope of finding stillness and a safe space just to be half-asleep, dressed, undressed; delirious and fatigued, stripped of judgment and responsibility.

Michael Brunt

Michael Brunt is a multidisciplinary photographer dividing his time between Sydney and London. Michael’s career as a photographer developed through his love of travel and landscape photography. Having honed a core aesthetic of contemplative authenticity in his imagery, he has a timeless and considered approach, using light and color to shape a distinctive visual voice throughout his work, while his early background in visual design is evident through his use of form and shape. Each image possesses a simplicity and depth, evocative of a sense of nostalgia and quiet.

 Veronica Blagoeva

Veronica is London-based fashion stylist and a visual creative. Originally from Bulgaria, her family moved to the Middle East in the 90’s; dividing her childhood between two visually disparate worlds. The primary color palette of the former Eastern Bloc is still a prominent element in her work. Veronica graduated from London College of Fashion in 2017 specializing in fashion media and critical theory. She is also an Associate Lecturer at Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design.
