Title: Black Mass

Black Mass is a series about a part of the soul, looking at the unconscious from Freud’s point of view: «This designates a part of ourselves, or more exactly an area of our mind where are stored a host of memories, fantasies, unavowable desires, that we cannot reach because a resistance in us opposes it». In this series, we are going to try to get as close as possible to this madness and these fantasies.

Hugo Bouteyre, photographer for magazines, portrays the women of today, combining fantasy, madness and sensuality

From the south of France, Hugo Bouteyre studied architecture. During his master’s degree, the world was struck by covid and it was during this strange period that he developed a real affinity with photography, notably with his first series: student unhappiness. He exhibited this series in the south of France.

It was at the age of twenty-three, once he had finished his studies, that he decided to move to Paris to devote himself fully to photography. Today, he works with magazines and also develops personal series, with a universe created from scratch, highlighting the powerful, free and desired women of today, combining fantasy, madness and sensuality.
