Aziza Vasco’s reportage in Northern India
Title: Northern India – a travel empathic Journal
My journey through Northern India, spanning the regions of New Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, felt like a return. A return to a primordial, essential phase, because I share my gestational preborn period with India.
A return to travel after the hiatus of recent years, imposed by both global events and personal circumstances. India proved to be a land that both warmly embraced me with its chaotic and generous spirituality and aesthetics, and challenged me with its enduring resistance and hurdles.
Each shot became an empathic exploration of the places and the people. From the sacred spectacle of Varanasi and the Ganges river to the colors of Jaipur and Jodhpur, to the Buddhist spirituality of BodhGaya. My travel journal seeks to connect with the land and its people, to see beyond the ordinary, and to rediscover wonder in the simplest of things.
