A chromatic liberation: diversity in fashion – Altered States

The liberation found in embracing expressions of beauty, where color and texture serve as tools for personal transformation, challenging conventions and empowering self-identity

Oliver Johnstone Cowen + Bryan Torres about Altered States: escaping normalcy through fashion

Title: Altered States

Seeking different realities via autonomous transformation, we break away from conformity and manipulate self-identity through the intimate alteration of the body. In this urban context, the exploitation of color and texture of skin, hair, fabric and bodily form allow for such alteration of self-state. The story aims to confront self-limitation, to have us reflect on the adaptability of beauty and to highlight the power in escaping normalcy through fashion.
