Cartography Issue 12: three geographic trajectories: Brazil (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and the Southern Amazon), the route from La Gomera to Tangier (Canary Islands, Spain to Morocco), and West Texas (Southwest United States). The issue organizes content through territorial observation, combining written contributions and photographic documentation to examine spatial, cultural, and environmental conditions.

Each section operates as a field-based investigation. Urban systems in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are analyzed alongside the ecological and infrastructural dynamics of the Southern Amazon. The Atlantic passage from La Gomera to Tangier is treated as a transnational corridor, where proximity between Europe and North Africa is examined through movement, geography, and exchange. West Texas is approached as a territorial condition defined by scale, land use, and isolation.

Cartography Issue 12 – the magazine constructs a comparative framework in which distant regions are analyzed within a single editorial structure. Text and image function as parallel tools, documenting specific contexts while contributing to a broader system of geographic reading.
