A book recounting the many collaborations between Fendi and the most precious Italian Craftsmen, working on a Limited Edition of the Fendi Baguette.
Originally published to mark the 25th anniversary of the iconic Baguette bag, FENDI Hand in Hand pays tribute to thirty (expanded to forty in later editions) Italian artisanal workshops, celebrating traditional crafts passed down through generations. Conceived in 2020, the FENDI Hand in Hand initiative highlights niche masters—guardians of Italy’s ancient techniques in materials such as vegetable leather, coral, filigree, chiseled marble, lace, mosaic, and more.
Renowned photographer and artist Lorenzo Vitturi captures these artisanal reinterpretations of the Baguette at the intersection of photography and sculpture, creating new works of art. Three curators—art critic and curator Eugenio Viola, upcyclist and fashion designer Orsola de Castro, and artist Aldo Bakker—contribute insightful texts exploring the evolution of craftsmanship, the need to preserve it, and the very essence of what constitutes craft.
