The Absolute, Noble Panacea. Active daily doses of OSMV™

In an industry saturated with rarely-kept promises of fountain-of-youth, Nobel Laureate Sir Fraser Stoddart points to the truth of science, developing the Organic Super Molecular Vessel technology

Skincare brand Noble Panacea

Noble Panacea is a science-led skincare brand. Sir Fraser Stoddart, Nobel Laureate and Director of the Centre for Chemistry of Integrated Systems at Northwestern University, founded it. The professional also won The Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2016 for his life work studying molecular motion from which emerged Noble Panacea’s «Organic Super Molecular Vessel» or OSMV technology.

Since its inception, scientists at Noble Panacea labs have refined it, in tandem with the Stoddart Research Group at Northwestern. Their aim was to make it ready for its first commercial use, in skincare. «Skincare is the first practical application of OSMV™ Technology due to its superiority in active ingredient protection and delivery» says Dr. Anne Chappas, the brand’s dermatological advisor.

Noble Panacea’s OSMV technology system

OSMV technology is based on a precise, time-released delivery method engineered from natural starches setting Noble Panacea’s products apart. The method protects active ingredients, such as retinol and peptides, at the molecular level. The aim is to preserve their integrity and potency until they can be released at the moment of need, and delivered to the location where they will be best absorbed.

Dr. Chappas explains that while the industry today largely focuses on the quality or type of ingredient used in formulas «the work for an efficient skin care solution does not stop here. We should look at how to get the ingredients to perform how they should». OSMV relies on an encapsulation system designed around the principles of protection, individually optimised release of active ingredients, maximal absorption, continual dosage and perpetual potency.

This is why the skincare comes in small daily doses. These small doses also protect the technology and the ingredients from oxidation, instability and degradation. The objective is to preserve their integrity and freshness for when they come into contact with the skin.

The active ingredients are optimized to their profile to allow for maximal absorption by the skin at the right location. Key feature of the products lies in their time-based Extended-Release system. Each ingredient within the formula is released in a time-ordered sequence to experience the potency of the ingredient and the overall formula. This extended release allows for a continual dosage and results in more than two-hundred percent penetration and absorption of active ingredients and an overall improved formula efficacy of up to tenfold, making it very potent. «Active ingredients that aid in repairing, restoring, and regenerating skin are delivered to where they’re most effective and at full potency over a long-term release».

Lampoon review: Noble Panacea’s The Brilliant and The Absolute’ collections

Noble Panacea offers two collections. The Brilliant and The Absolute. Each of these contain four products. A serum, a day cream, an eye cream and a night cream comprising a complete skincare ritual.  While The Brilliant collection aims at protecting, preserving and preventing youthful skin from signs of ageing, The Absolute collection restores and repairs more mature skin. The Brilliant works with potent anti-oxidants to boost the skin’s natural defense from daily stress and pollution, while deeply hydrating to preserve health and skin’s youthful dewiness. While, The Absolute differs from that. It, in fact, «delivers skin regeneration, renewal and nourishment. Countering all signs of aging to rejuvenate the skin’s youthful health at the cellular core».

Each of the individual serums and creams in the collection follow a less is more policy. Not overcrowding the ingredient list and using only the most effective and powerful active ingredients. The formulas include both all-natural ingredients, like Bakuchiol, brown seaweed, Gotu Kola and more, as well as chemically modified ones, like retinol, peptide, and glycolic acid. «At Noble Panacea we promote natural ingredients as much as possible when they have a proven efficacy. But, we have to remember that not everything natural is safemercury, essential oils. And not everything chemical is dangerous».

The study, analysis and testing of each ingredient take place through advanced equipment. This verifies efficacy rates. Only ingredients with scientifically verified efficacious performance go in the formulas. Each of the formulas are also dermatologist and ophthalmologist approved. They are also one-hundred percent free of gluten, parabens, silicones, mineral oils and other human and planet unfriendly ingredients.

Sustainability approach at Noble Panacea

Every process in the brand’s life cycle, from production to packaging and design, aims at eliminating or reducing waste and establishing a non-toxic, sustainable closed-loop ecosystem that uses renewable energy, biodegradable processes and creates no waste.

The packaging for the daily doses is one-hundred percent recyclable through the label’s partnership with TerraCycle. An innovative recycling company that is fast becoming a global leader in recycling typically hard-to-recycle-waste. The partnership sees them streamlining the recycling process by making it easier for consumers across the country to partake in the recycling.

Every order purchased comes with a prepaid TerraCycle envelope. The consumer fills it up with empty Active Daily Doses and drops it off at the nearest FedEx location. The Active Daily Doses create fifteen times less plastic waste than a jar or a pump bottle. Sustainable materials characterize their packaging design, as well. The white clamshell is plastic-free and made from starch. All the papers used across the production are FSC- Certified (Forest Stewardship Council) and made from responsibly sourced wood fibre.

Further, earlier in 2021, Noble Panacea launched refills, allowing customers to keep the clamshell box and refill the doses only. In addition to its commitment to sustainability, Noble Panacea has nurtured a long-standing partnership with Girl Up. The brand, in fact, helps educate young girls around the world to expand access to STEM education, and overall empower girls’ development. Early in April 2021, the brand launched their latest initiative. The first-ever STEM Scholarship. The purpose is to mitigate financial burdens through scholarships and facilitate the pursuit of education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
