The fibers of the Hemp and Wool Sarner Jacket are sourced in the Italian region of Apulia, and spun in Prato – Tuscany. The spinning mill processed a wool blend with Italian hemp fiber, harvested, scutching and subjected to anaerobical retting in Tuscany. Anaerobic retting of hemp brings a wool-like fiber. The fabric was designed in the province of Bergamo, evolving the honeycomb pattern and finding a marked three – dimensionality through a light felting treatment.
Inspired by the Sarentino Valley in South Tyrol. The hemp and wool sarner jacket features a round neck, and long raglan sleeves. The fit is snug on the torso, thanks in part to side panels, and volumetric on the shoulders, where a lining reinforces the structure. The brass cufflinks are handmade in Italy. The sleeves are straight and comfortable.
The sarner jacket is available in cream white. The natural color of hemp fiber tends toward ochre and terracotta, a darker gradation due to anaerobic maceration.
Lampoon and the avoiding of synthetic fibers – focusing on the authentic textures of natural materials. The hemp fabric is untreated and free of coloring processes, showcasing its raw and breathable qualities.
Hemp is one of the most sustainable natural fibers, known for its durability, breathability, and minimal environmental impact. Hemp requires little water and no pesticides, making it an ideal choice for reducing the environmental footprint.
Lampoon works with natural fibers, especially hemp, for the purpose of its durability and texture. Rooted in Italy’s rich hemp tradition, Lampoon searches for a rough, refined aesthetic focused on sustainability.
