Francesca Cavalcanti and Aurora Troise: a shared experience of youth

Naples, where bonds are formed, identities are forged again. Francesca Cavalcanti and Aurora Troise on the fragility of youth and the human commitment of photography

Francesca Cavalcanti, Aurora Troise on human commitment: an interplay of camaraderie and individual expression

The editorial presents a tapestry of youth culture, weaving a narrative that delves into the intimacy of human commitment between two young men. Each photograph is a vignette, a slice of life that captures the complex interplay of camaraderie and individual expression. Transitioning from the intimacy of human commitment, the story expands to embrace individuality, showcasing how personal identity is celebrated within the shared experiences of youth.

Human Fragility and the transient nature of youth according to Francesca Cavalcanti and Aurora Troise

The subjects are framed in moments of human fragility and unguarded interaction, emphasizing the trust and understanding that define their relationship. Their fashion is an eclectic mix of streetwear juxtaposed with avant-garde pieces, signaling the rebellious spirit that youth culture embodies. It’s a stylistic echo of their personalities—diverse, dynamic, and unafraid to challenge norms.

Amidst these moments of connection, there’s a sense of freedom and exploration that resonates with the transient nature of youth. The editorial doesn’t just depict a friendship; it offers a window into a broader culture where bonds are formed, identities are forged, and life is lived with an intensity that is as fleeting as it is fervent. It’s a celebration of the youth’s journey—intimate, raw, and rough.

Aurora Troise and the new wave of photography in Naples

Aurora Troise is an Italian photographer, emerging from the new wave of photography in Naples. Born in 1998 to Neapolitan parents in the northern region of Italy, Aurora developed a connection to Mediterranean culture during her upbringing. Her formative years were characterized by spending time amidst rivers, seas, and mountains. In 2017, at the age of eighteen, she was captivated by the allure of French culture and decided to embrace the life of a Parisian, pursuing her dream of working in the Image Industry.

Initially uninterested in fashion, Aurora was drawn to photography because of the connections it allowed her to build with people. She embarked on a quest for an intimate and almost documentary approach to art, using her lens to sculpt the world through her perspective. Aurora still lives and works in Paris even though she is an exponent of the new wave of photography in Naples.
